There's a disconnect between most universities and the broader local community. Muncie, Indiana is no different.

On February 27, 2026, Vivian Bostick, Founder of the independently-established The Cardinal Independent (The CI), launched the TGN Network (short for Town, Gown, Now Network) channel on YouTube. The goal? To establish a broadcast home for The CI and Muncie-centric video projects, serving locals and students alike. 

TGN's first upload was The CI's raw coverage of the Ball State University Board of Trustees meeting that day. 

While news content is still produced by The CI, video packages will be published under the TGN name, to provide a unified home for video separate from the Vee Media channel.

TGN isn't just a journalism video news hub--it's what's happening in our town. While news is always The CI's priority, TGN aspires to deliver local entertainment, education, and feature content.
